Short walk to the Lower East Side and all the cool bars there. Oftentimes, the kids behind the counter are more concerned with the music on the CD player than actually helping people.

And $45 for a pound of coffee is a lot, but not unheard of. I have a friend who's considered to be a "master roaster", and the coffee he roasts himself sells for about that much.Ha Ha Soundhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09545196323391055102noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-222523593258151872.post-70531454623882540402008-01-21T20:09:00.000-05:002008-01-21T20:09:00.000-05:00Yes, PP, there are Starbucks everywhere. We missed each other because we failed to specify exact coordinates!

SS, I love that Amelie scene, too. She really is my idol.

I have to wonder how much it works out per bean?Kittyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13260829805068114560noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-222523593258151872.post-26173808652818669092008-01-21T19:22:00.000-05:002008-01-21T19:22:00.000-05:00Holy cow! $49 a pound!? I guess without it, they'd have too many people indulging their Amelie tendencies (that scene where she delves into the lentils is adorable).

Sounds like you had a great day off despite the chill!Spandrel Studioshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05782425263902619415noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-222523593258151872.post-45493601325564255062008-01-21T19:13:00.000-05:002008-01-21T19:13:00.000-05:00Expensive beans indeed! I'm guessing that is the reason why Starbucks is on almost every corner of every block in NYC :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
