The Tulips are Blooming

Bryant Park
Photo by myself in Bryant Park, at 42nd Street and Sixth Avenue.

Though it's still chilly, the tulips are abloom. It's Spring. Hooray!

It's still rather cold in New York these days. Just walking on the sunny side of the street makes a difference. I just can't wait 'til I can wear my flip flops!

Mark left tonight for Argentina, for work. To celebrate, we ate a couple meals without red meat before his departure.

While he's gone I have some loose plans: walk around and become more familiar with my new camera, tidy up the house, go to the gym, spend some quality time with people and the cat.

Argentina is one hour ahead of New York, but it takes eleven hours to get there. Hm. And it's warm there now. I see nothing but positives in his situation, except for the long plane ride.

Anyhow, it's officially Spring, isn't it? Happy Spring, everyone!

Great Pic.
I always here of Bryant Park during fashion shows. It is nice to see it without all the tents.

Thanks Barber Bunch!
There's quite a buzz when Fashion Week is going on. I've never been in the tents and I wonder how they get everything in there that they do.

Spring is absolutely in the air, Kitty. It's been gorgeous outside these past few days, and I'm loving it! The hyacinths in our garden are poking up out of the ground at long last.

What a shame you couldn't accompany Mark to Argentina - I've read so much about the country lately and it sounds like a fantastic place for a vacation. Maybe next time?

I finally saw some crocus abloom in Madison Square Park yesterday . . . but little else. I'm so ready to put on shorts and sandals and walk block after block with camera in hand.

Happy Spring. Not that it's very springlike here at the moment.

Argentina sounds rather inviting. I can't help thinking it might be quicker to get there from here than it is from NY. Don't they speak Welsh in some small parts of Argentina? Or was that just a weird dream I had once???

Hi Kitty, I am sooooo jealous of Mark's Argentina trip, I was there 4 or 5years ago and loved it to bits. The nice thing about it being almost on the same time zone is that even while the flight is long, there's no jet lag!!!!

Now it is here, the most beautiful of all parks in NYC, THE BRYANT PARK sublime with the American Radiator Building ... and I tell you this because this is the only French'Park. I am part of a brotherhood of insane of Bryant Park. The first thing when I was NYc, go drink a Capuccino to Bryant, and only at that time I am in NYC.

Ok how about a geography quiz? I have just the right thing. One of my post ask about Argentina.

South America - trivia 1

Some fun and learning at same time. Comments you can leave. I did that question on Jan 26th of this year.

Hi Spandrel
I've heard that Argentina is a very affordable place to visit. I'll let everyone know what Mark thinks of it!

How nice that you have a garden? That sounds luxurious.

Hi Brian
I'm incorrect. It's not tulips at Bryant Park but daffodils.

I so hear you. Thank goodness it's finally a wee bit warmer!

Hi RB
I dunno about the Welsh. How strange?! I must admit I am a doofus when geography is concerned.

Hi Fish
Mark said the same thing about the jet lag, lol.
You're so well-traveled! I envy you!

Hello Olivier
Funny that you consider Bryant Park to be French in flavor. I can see it now, even though the scale is so grand.

The feeling is formal and somewhat pristine. I really love it.

Hi Mike
My geography knowledge stinks but I will give your quiz a try! Thanks dear!

Si tu remarques bien, les chaises et les tables sont des copies du Jardin du Luxembourg de Paris. Et en plus on joue souvent a la pétanque (avec des équipes de français vivant à NYC).
