I took this photo somewhere in Carroll Gardens, as Mark and I drove home from our lunch on Saturday.
A woman and her patient little dog were enjoying some time together. The usual city litter decorate the bench and sidewalk.
Mark has his heart set on getting a puppy.
He was told about a recent litter of Boston Terriers, the breed he's now in love with. There was a photo of a recent batch, all black and white and helpless looking.
We'll see what happens. I don't like the idea of pure bred cats and dogs, when so many are neglected and can't find homes, but this is his thing, and I won't stand in his way.
Photos to follow, of course.

j'aime cette photo de banc,on pourrait la voir sortir d'un vieil album photo.
I love this picture bench could see out of an old photo album.
Hmm, this really shows the connection between her and the dog.
Either that or the dog is thinking "give me a bite" and she's thinking "don't you dare nick my sandwich!"
She's wearing some nice gladiator sandals though...

I really enjoy your blog and like the way you alter between colour and b/w. Makes for interesting images.
And I have a huge crush on New York City - so your blog offers a nice daily fix.
I wonder if I may be a kind of city stalker...?

That dog is hoping for whatever is left in that basket ;-)
Love the photo Kitty :-)
GREAT capture, Miss Kitty!
Dogs are never more loyal...than when we have food in our hands :-)

Wonderful slice-of-life photograph. Well done!
I like this b&w photo of this scene very much!! Well done.
This is really good!
Nice capture of the street life.
The puppy is just begging for a scrap. ;o)
What a great street portrait. Really nice.
Terrier wants ice coffee! Gimme gimme mommie!
There's something very Parian about this, retro Parsian. That dog is adorable and her facial expression is
wonderful. Fabulous image.
Thanks everyone!
I can see how so many people can relate to dogs.
Their body language is so precious, it's like you can see right through to their little brains, lol

Hooray for fellow Daily Photo Bloggers! I look forward to browsing your photos.
I agree with you on the homeless dogs and cats in shelters. If I get a dog, that is where I'll start.
But like you said, it's his (Mark) thing so he should be able to get what he wants.
Looking forward to puppy photos.
Is there another dog, a dark one, lying down behind the white one?
Are you sure you can't convince him to do a rescue? All breeds have rescue organizations so if he's got his heart set on a Boston he could still get one of those and be really helping a puppy out.
Hi Ming
I often can't even think about the shelters. It breaks my heart.
Good to know there are like-minded people out there.
Hi Kizz
I think that shadow is a plastic bag? lol.
Thanks dear, I started browsing around and there are definitely sites out there dedicated toward rescuing each breed. We'll see!
Perfect set up for a black and white shot! It wouldn't be nearly so effective in color!
