Celebrating Another Week

Cafe Steinhof, Park Slope
Photo by myself at Cafe Steinhof, an Austrian restaurant in Park Slope, Brooklyn.

Mark and I love this place, which serves schnitzel, potato pancakes and sauerbrauten. It has a homey vibe with a long wood bar and special events, like movie night Sundays.

Oh, and did I mention the bar?

I'm wondering whether I should post a bar scene every Friday.

It turns out I posted a similar photo in April. I'm not sure which one I prefer.

Mark and I don't frequent many bars. We've become homebodies who stick to a handful of very good, trusty restaurants. If only I were more young at heart and adventuresome!

Here's to the weekend.

Your photo makes this bar look like the perfect place to unwind with a beer on a Friday night... love the exposed brick... Throw in a few potato pancakes, and it's perfection - cheers! Have a nice weekend!

Great shot. The angle you shot from is really interesting. Of course I love me some warm golden light so this one really appeals to me. Beer and potato pancakes. Yum!

I don't go to bars much either, but when I do, these are the types I like to go too, especially if they serve potato pancakes.

It looks a nice place to eat and drink.

Potato pancakes, yum. And I think this looks like the "laying your head on the bar cuz you can't hold it up anymore" view, which is clever :-)

Ah yes must not forget the bar. Mine's a large gin and tonic, please.

I don't frequent bars much these days either but that one looks jolly welcoming indeed.

Have a lovely weekend, Kitty.

I think both photos are great. Sounds like a great place to chill after a long week.

The bar looks very inviting. I like those cozy little finds that you can spot if you look a bit closer. Hanging out with true people in a known environment can do a whole lot of good in a big city.

Looks like just the place to be on these wet days.

Now that looks like my kinda bar. Some place where you can sit with your friends and talk without the dance thing.

There's a cool little German place in the West Village - "Lederhosen" on Grove, just west of Bleecker. Good food and GREAT beers.
