'The Look'

Seen
Photo by myself, somewhere along 6th Avenue.

I was caught recently taking a candid photo on the street, and thence given 'The Look'.

Happy last day of 2008!

I have yet to finalize my resolution list. At the moment, thoroughly enjoying life is up there, along with enjoying the people and critters around me. I also hope to relax more and be a more active photographer.

I suppose it's traditional to look back on the year at this milestone. This year has yielded many good things - a job change, a new dog, new friends and Mark and I moving in together. Looking ahead, I can only hope for continued surprises, challenges and the occasional reward.

How has 2008 been for you? And what do you hope for in 2009?

the year 2008 was good, because I walk my annual NYC and I hope that 2009 will be as good with a future trip to NYC (hopefully) in October ;o).
I wish you a Happy New Year 2009 and mostly full of good things.
(if in my list of resolutions, I put: Learn English (but it is 10 years since I put this resolution in my list ;o)).

Happy New Year, Kitty! I agree with you - life's too short to not take the time to enjoy it.

For me, 2008 has definitely been a year of transition, but in a good way. So, I am determined that 2009 will be a year where the emphasis is on FUN!

2008 has been interesting. Many ups and downs. My company struggles on and I started a cooperation with a local advertising agency. I have a dream of running a tourism magazine and I think the time has come. So I think 2009 will be a very exciting year! And I will remember to have fun and enjoy life more, like you say.
Happy New Year!

Do people who give you The Look ever say anything to you? Do you ever say anything to them?

2008 included too much death. I don't want more of that in 2009, please.

Nice portrait. I hope you realize all your ambitions and goals in 2009.

I hope 2009 will be better than 2008, 2007, and 2006. I do think our government will be inspired by our new President Obama -- at least I hope so.

I would like to see the War in Irag end and I would like to see the killing stop everywhere.

It is my hope that Japan will stop slaughtering whales and raping virgin forests.

And I hope the people will lose their clubs and no longer club baby seals to death.

What a world we have and live in. 2009 could be so much better than it will be.

Very stern sort of look too!

I hope you don't mind me taking the easy route by copying and pasting this comment, it is by far the easiest method of getting my message to so many CDP photobloggers.
I am not sure that I can sustain South Shields Daily Photo much longer, it is so difficult to keep finding new material on a daily basis,
and after more than two years inspiration and motivation are becoming harder to find, so I may become less daily from time to time.
I hope you can find new hope and inspiration, and that a new start in 2009 brings everything that you desire.
The CDP photoblogging community has grown massively over the past year and I'd like to thank those who have visited South Shields Daily Photo, especially those who have been kind enough to leave a comment or two.
Best wishes for 2008

Portland Oregon Daily Photo sends you heartfelt wishes for the new year. May your 2009 be filled with good health, riches of the mind and heart, loved ones returning home, an increased respect for our fragile planet, and the cessation of wars across the Earth.

I love street photos but I am a bit scared to do it. Once, I got thrown at with some items and scolded loudly. It was embarrassing and that made me more careful these days.

I hope 2009 would be better than 2008. Looking forward to it with hope and positively!
