Photo by myself of Dida, our dear calico.
Mark, Rupert and I are terribly sad to announce that we lost our cat Dida yesterday. Dida succumbed very quickly, after a long and valiant fight with kidney disease.
She had some other ailments too, but faced all these with the bravery and typical stiff upper lip cats have. Dida loved sunny windowsills and lots of attention. She was rescued from the streets of New York around Hell's Kitchen, after giving birth to a beautiful litter of kittens. She was a very sweet and affectionate cat, despite her shyness.
Our household is a bit shaken up right now, specifically the humans. Rupert has yet to figure out that he is the lone four-legged beast among us.
Do give your animal family members an extra hug. Take more photos of them than you think proper. Spoil them a lot.
Dida and Rupert shared a fondness for napping.

So sorry to hear of your loss> I wonder is us humans would have been able to live on with such dignity were we suffer with all these ailments
Poor little Dida. My condolences. I do spoil Bibi....
Danni and I send hugs to you and Rupert. I lost two of my kitties to kidney/liver disease yrs ago and I still miss them.
Danni pretends not to get along with her kitty sisters, but in the end she knows they will share their kitty food with her.
So sad. Yes, they fill our lives with so much love... but there always comes a time like this. Meow!!
I'm so sorry, Kitty. Our beloved bichon frisé, Bobo, has been gone almost five years now, and I still miss him every day. Having him put down was the most difficult decision of our lives. You are spot on to remind us to cherish our four-legged friends, and Rufus and Lucie will be getting some extra love today.
Really sorry about Dida. I know about the empty feeling in the house.
Oh Kitty, I'm so sorry to hear about Dida. She was beautiful.
