Photo by myself on the B train, below ground.
A wee snippet from the commute, yesterday morning.
All the passengers on the morning train were tuned out on devices small and large, or they were asleep. One fellow leaned against the center pole in his own world, practicing the drums against his leg.
It was all a little surreal, but this was a typical morning.
Some riders read books and newspapers, though, just not in this view. And at times, people do talk to one another. Many couples, families or neighbors make the morning commute together.

In the days before devices, did commuters chat to each other on the train or would that have been the days when it was a bit risky to do so. Do people ever chat and pass the time of day now? Just curious. Because if they don't then that's a lota people not speaking.
This is scene that is common on any subway system.
Great shot. You see how the world is going more and more individually. Its going to give a lot of problems I think.
Surreal it is for sure. How things can change so complete in a few years. Everybody in his own world, no contact. It is a real image of this time.
Great capture Kitty. Love it. Beautiful angle.
Hi Kitty, How do you take pictures of people like that without them noticing and getting angry or avoiding you? I can never seem to do something like this without being spotted.
Super capture Kitty!
talk to each other? what the? :)
It's amazing how comfortable everyone looks, this could be inside someone's living room.
Great photo, Kitty. Reminds me of something from one of my other favorite New York blogs, Overheard in New York:
Woman #1: Don't you hate taking the train so early in the morning? I take it every day.
Woman #2: Could you not talk to me?

So, Apple became a big company!
I want a pair of red pants....whether my wife would let me wear them and whether I have the right stuff to go with them.....
Great Shot indeed. Like this picture a lot thank you for sharing.
