A Call for Help

Plea for Help
Photo by myself, in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.

I thought this sign was humorous.

Vandalism and theft are an unfortunate phenomenon in larger cities. I wonder whether the bench-pilferer ever saw this note?

Theft IS unfortunate... Still, it's quite funny as it reads like the bench is a little lost waif with the whole "to whom it may conern" thing going on. You always show the less obvious, more interesting and quirky side of NY. Don't know how you do it.

Oh and I'm adding you on my list of favourite blogs on both of my blogs if that's alright with you!
Ciao!

I suppose they will steal the sign next.

I always heard you should not return to the scene of the crime.. wonder if the bench stealer knows that?

How the heck did they steal a bench without anyone seeing??? The note is funny. :o)

I hope that there wasn’t a homeless guy sleeping on it at the time!

Hi Ineke
hehe. It is terrible. Most benches here are chained to buildings. The one must have escaped its handcuffs

Much appreciated, Jamjar!
I guess I like to take photos of whatever catches my eye on a daily level, breaking out of the mundane. So it's not just photography but a matter of chance, too.

I feel lucky to have walked by this note.

Hi Ken Mac
yes, I hope it found a good phone.

Welcome Steve Buser
haha. I look forward to reading your blog.

Lol Dana!

Hi Tammy
It must have been a night time theft? Bay Ridge is rather sleepy. Too it's not immune to thievery.

Welcome Kris
lol, you never know these days.

It's too bad about the bench. You should send the note to passive-aggressive notes.

lol, Mo. I'll have to look that site up. How funny?

Oh amazing - our tubes and metros are all rubbish for mosaics and arty stuff. I wish there was more of it around to make the undergrounds a more friendly place to go!
Ciao
