An antique store advertised it was closing its doors. Now is the time to snap up good deals.
There aren't many visible signs in New York of the flagging economy.
Some storefronts are empty, with businesses shutting down or shifting neighborhoods. Most stores, even the posh ones, are advertising sales.
With the impending inauguration, there is hope for a change. Someday, all this will be a memory.

Here in London, if one glances in an Estate Agent's window, one invariably sees rows of empty desks and earnest, eager faces of the few workers left, looking out almost pleading...
HOPE. I'm excited.
Did you get anything good at the store?
what makes me laugh is when I see a pair of antique wicker chairs on "sale" for $1800! I suppose in some circles that is a sale!
I really do have much hope for our world.
so sad. wonder if it was really an antique store, or those....REPRODUCTIONS. sigh. still, sad to see a business having to give up...
hmm. read a story in the NY Times how the crisis has hit the city. One guy wrote of being in midtown at lunch and the place was dead. And no more $20 cocktails apparently...
