Photo by myself of Rachel's, a Mexican restaurant in Park Slope, Brooklyn.
The flames refer to spicy food. The flourish below their name is actually a hot pepper.
Speaking of flames, New York is bracing itself for a heat wave this week.
Sunday it was in the low 90s with high humidity. More of the same uncomfortable weather is expected this week. I'm certain the subway platforms will be unbearable.
All you can hear outside at night is the whir of air conditioning.

Paris has the same weather forecast. Here you have a lot less air-conditioning though. Having lived in Southern Florida was nothing as for preparation for the real non-air-conditioned trains, subways, offices, homes... experience.
we had a fan on last night but all it did was blow hot air at us
Nothing worse than walking around in the City when it is hot and humid.
Cool picture, but hot in the city is no fun.
Hawt sign! Hawt photo!
I'm taking a cab home after work. Can't stomach the thought of taking the crowded bus and then the boiling subway and then walk in the hot sun to get home. Yup! I'll treat myself to a nice cool cab ride that will drop me off right in front of my building. ;-)
Have a good one,
Paz
It's hot and humid in Maine too. And we don't have A/C in most buildings since it gets hot like this about 2 weeks a year.
Ahaha!!! :D Excellent illustration!
