Photo by myself in Soho, around Prince and Greene Streets.
The Soup Station is a makeshift food stand on the sidewalk. They have a built-in case with scrumptious looking baked goods.
Never mind that they spelled the word 'vegetarian' wrong! If the food tastes good, people will come.
Not sure how street food vendors are doing today, since the streets aren't so user friendly. New York, like other parts of the Northeast, is going through yet another major snowstorm. We may get up to 16 inches of snow!
Walking along the sidewalks will be a drag, especially at the street corners, where there are usually deep piles of snow and slush. Often pedestrians will stop in their tracks and become stranded, not knowing exactly how cross the street. Ha.
Curious to see how much snow we have on the ground? Here's a site linking to various live webcams around the city.

I did try to read your post but that photo of Rupert on the sidebar kept distracting me! He is just so gorgeous.
I can't believe the snow you have had. We've had quite a bit this year - and still have some now - but not on that scale.
I am sick of the cold now and very ready for spring.
So glad to have found your blog again.
I've been trying to upload my Snowpocalypse/Snowmageddon/SNOWMG! pics to Flickr all morning. And on Flickr's 6th birthday, too. I think it's working, just in time for me to go back outside and take some more. It's getting truly blizzardy out there now.
Lovely shot!
that chili sounds good!
I hope as soon as this snow is done falling the sun comes out & begins melting it all very quickly. I love new snow but old snow just gets ugly.
nice blog, nice idea

Nice. Soup is so great in the cold. We just had another snow storm over here and it paralyzes us. Boats, trains and buses stops. So annoying.
I love food, vegetarian or not. I saw a 'veggie terrain' sign in India...
After seeing the chilly image in the post above this one, the soup here is warm and welcome!
;-)
