Deck Yourself Out, in Soho

Soho stall, NYC
Photo by myself around Spring and Greene Streets, in Soho.

Open air stalls sell jewelry, hats, graphic tee shirts and everything else all year round, on an empty lot in Soho. Much of the goods are or look handmade. There are no packaged or brand name goods.

Metal pipes provide a structure to support lights, sheets and wire mesh. The result resembles a nomadic campground.

Hi Olivier
I don't look good in hats, either, lol.

Kitty, just wanted to say thank you for my "New York fix" every morning! It's fun that I can get a piece of Manhattan's scene with just a click along with my morning coffee!

I love shopping at the open air stalls like that...your photo reminds me that a few weeks back I stopped and looked at some artwork - a father was selling colored etchings of his daughter's - they were so charming, but i was out of cash! I wanted to go back and see if I could find him again...

Wonderful reminders of the amazing street life in NYC, Kitty! Wandering the streets of SoHo is so much fun. I love that tiny businesses like this can thrive around the city.

What are the 'tiles' in the top photo - at the top right? Are they tiles? Interesting lot, certainly!
