Film Shoot, in Midtown

Film Shoot, Midtown

A film shoot of some kind was in progress, Thursday night.

The film crew, mostly guys wearing blue jeans, occupied the sidewalk below. On a platform was a cameraman, getting a view through an open window.

By the way, it was St. Patrick's Day here. I tried very hard to get a photo of happy people dressed in green, but nothing turned out very well!

The St. Patrick's Day parade took place on Fifth Avenue Thursday, from 44th Street to 86th Street. Traffic was a mess.

Happy Friday, everyone!

I love it to see those movie's making in NY. I also saw one when I was there. I always keep wondering which movie it had been.

I landed in NYC on St. Patrick's Day on one of my visits. The first time or two I encountered the parade (first as it was getting organized and later when it was in full swing) I thought it was cool to be there for it. I had no idea how long it lasted or how far up Fifth Avenue it traveled, though. It quickly became a barrier to me as I tried to get to various museums and galleries on the Upper East Side.

I bump into film shoots all the time. You don't have to wonder what they are filming. The name of the movie is on the permits in all the car windows and on the "No Parking" signs that are on the poles.

But sometimes the movie name changes. I saw a giant movie shoot (weeks long) when I used to work in Greenwich Village. I saw Jack Nicholon a few times. I was waiting for a movie called "Among Friends" to come out.

When I saw "As good as it gets in the theater, I almost screamed when I saw the scene I saw them film a year earlier.
