Photo by myself, somewhere in Midtown.
Ah, now is the time for flip flops and open-toed shoes.
Happy Monday, everyone!
Argh, I am not in love with the above photograph. Consider this a disclaimer.
I've been so busy with work and other stuff, the photography is suffering. There it is. I know it, you don't have to tell me.
Anyway, I wrote in a long ago post about flip flop wearing women in New York. I belong to the flip flop wearing variety.
Others do not. I can understand. New York is not Europe. It is not Santa Monica. Our streets are not pristine.
On the other hand, New York is not completely littered with garbage. Just partly.
It's just so much cooler, temperature-wise to discard your shoes when it's hot. And there are more fashion options.

she looks like a balloon ready to float away
hahaha, Ken Mac you are wicked (& funny)!
personally I feel compelled to admit I happen to like this photograph very much. three very different women composed perfectly in this shot -very nice Kitty.
I'm a flip flop wearer, more so in NYC than when I lived in California.
I just want you to know that your photographs are keeping me sane while I've been on assignment in another state (middle of nowhere). I miss NYC so bad that I have had legitimate CRYING JAGS from homesickness. I found your blog a few weeks ago and am using it as daily therapy. :)
I get back to NYC July 1st. Hooray!! I harbor the quixotic hope that I will bump into you on the street someday and get to hug your neck for basically saving my sanity. xox
Thank you everyone!
Hi Olivier
Yes, I noticed that, too. The tattoos look great in terms of color and placement. She did a good job.
Ha, thanks Tara!
Ha Ken,
Yes, she does. ;-)
Hi Lily
thank you for your kind words!
I wish I had a quicker trigger finger with this one. I only got one shot off instead of 3 or 4.
Hello and welcome Stephanie!
aw...I'm sorry to hear you're having such homesickness. Anything I can do to help!
Often it's those times away that make you really appreciate home. You come back and see things in a different light.
I'll think of you next time I snap a photo.
Best, K
I wore flip flops once in NY. Totally regretted it. Not only did countless people step on the back of it, but at the end of the day I had a nice thick gathering of dirt and dust and pollution crap at the back of my heel. Yuck.
