Delays on the B Train, Underground

Delays
Photo by myself at the subway platform in Columbus Circle.

It's been sweltering here above and below ground.

Swelteringly hot and humid. The temperature was around 100 degrees Fahrenheit, Tuesday. With tropical humidity, it felt like 110.

The last thing you want to do is stand very close to someone you don't know. Above, there were delays on the subway. I'm sure most of the people were thinking, 'What the (#&@#! is the problem???!!'

A minority of guys wear suits or blazers to work, like the fellow on the right. For most, just a nice shirt and slacks will do.

Guys in more creative or informal professions can wear cargo shorts and tee shirts. He looks very cool but I can't imagine how hot the guy in the suit feels.

Nice photo! I just don't understand why someone uses slippers with socks...Is it too hot but still he's afraid of getting a cold?

Yes the white socks, I noticed that too, he would be a looser here. And why does the man in the costume keeps his jacket on, he is yet not in the office anymore? Men....

the well worn, knowledgeable gave of the underground subway dweller. Too experienced to be exasperated, too long suffering to point fingers

Thank god our subway cars are air-conditioned because it has been very hot in the stations here too!

we had a fairly large blackout in our neighborhood last night. I was so happy our house still had electricity. I would've hated to sleep without AC in this weather!
