The Ghostly Glow of Times Square

On 42nd Street
Photo by myself at 42nd Street and Sixth Avenue.

The signs around Times Square light up a huge portion of the night sky. You can see the ghostly glow from several blocks away.

We've been having warm summer nights. Tons of people were walking about, Wednesday evening.

By the way, I received a really nice email from the people at Prospect Park, yesterday. They enjoyed my recent photo of women playing badminton and posted it on their Facebook page.

You can see the photo on their wall here.

these types of images are my favorite thing about Times square.

it seems empty but that's probably because of the distance. beautiful lights but in person, it's a bit overwhelming. beautiful shot.

loving the gleaming details on the tarmac. makes the bottom part kinda grounded, hence a strong sensation. and a winning contrast.

conan o'brien once said, "conan, how did u do it. and then we wud hi-five, which would cause a tsunami" :))

the interviewer was asking him, wut wud he imagine God wud says if they meet each other. ofcoz, he's imagining things.

kitty, how did u do it? :) hv a nice warm summer day!

Thanks Olivier!
Yes the cabs and blur add a to an otherwise static shot. Well said.

Thanks Beatrice!

Hi Lily
I can relate. From far away, all glittery and nice, it's not bad. Much better than being in a crowd.

Hi Lissa
You're right, I didn't realize that when I wrote the post. There were loads of people further along (west) and especially in the pedestrian area at 42nd and Broadway.

Hi khUthU
You must mean the show 'Inside the Actor's Studio' where James Lipton asks the same few questions to each of his guests, including their favorite curse words and such.

I'm not sure what I'd say. I'd probably sit there for a good long while debating with myself whether to try to be clever or profound. lol

What would you say?

yeah.. that show! i only know of them both via youtube. loving the ending bits ot the show when they sing for 'em.

wuts profound means anyway..

i'd say: snapshots are snapshots. along the way, we'd notice how differently they effect us visually. sometimes we manage to capture them purposely, sometimes they surprise us. hm. that sounds way amature.

i guess the pro's control them all. or at least, having a high level of control.

i read a lot of literature critics, thats why i saying things.. so, dont worry about it ;)
