Tonight's Winning Numbers, in Sunset Park

After the Lottery, Sunset Park
Photo by myself in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.

The floor of a grocery store in Brooklyn's Chinatown is littered with the aftermath of Lotto.

Useless ticket stubs are scattered on the floor. Above on the television, were the night's winning numbers.

Oh to win the lottery and retire.

I'm not sure what I'd do with myself. Most likely potter about, travel and take photos, and just enjoy life.

What would you do?

Great shot! It could be anywhere in China.

Exactly the same as you. Maybe pay off some debt, help my parents. Wow, think I'll treat myself to a scratch off ticket today!

Well, I don't play it so I don't stand much chance of winning.

But I'd love to be able to travel - perhaps two or three longish trips each year and spend a month or two in a new place.

I wouldn't be extravagant otherwise but it would nice never to have to check a bank statement, to just be able to live without thinking about money at all.

But I bet it wouldn't be like that, would it? I'd get all stressed about how to invest it and spend hours fighting off people who wanted to help me do so!!

great photo. I think I would live in a different country for 6 months out of every year maybe longer, but I would get a part time job(nothing too demanding) while I lived there too.
& I'd most likely adopt one or two more dogs.
oh to dream...

It looks just like a scene from the Oakland or San Francisco Chinatowns!

I would "hide" in NYC for a bit, then travel!

ha, thanks everyone.
True, this scene doesn't have to be in NYC at all.

I know they say that after you win the lottery your happiness level doesn't change, but I'd be surprised from these responses that you wouldn't be a bit happier as a result?
