Looking Down from Midtown Comics

Midtown Comics, NYC
Photo by myself in Midtown, around 40th Street and 7th Avenue.

Good to know that superheroes are still looking out for us in Gotham City.

No, Midtown Comics is not the home for comedians. I've never ventured in, but I've heard that you can find anything related to comic books and graphic novels in this second floor shop.

Not sure where Batman and Superman were this rainy day last week. Perhaps they were out catching the bad guys?

If you can't make it to the store, Midtown Comics sells their goods online, here.

What a great composition, makes one compare the size of humans and superheros - a bit surreal, yet nice picture. Please have a wonderful Sunday.

Do you think the resurgence of popularity--for adults now, as well as children--of comics, graphic novels, and animated movies means a change of some kind in the American psyche?

Didn't mean to make the question sound so stuffy--it really interests (worries?) me, and the excellent comment here from "daily athens" makes me revisit the whole issue.

I love this shot! What great colours, there has been a really big return of the superheroes, I think that it may take our minds off of our reality!

Hello ρομπερτ
What an interesting thing to notice!

I didn't make that connection. I'm sure the size of the graphics were done on purpose.

Thanks Boom!

Hi Banjo52
It's a great question. I think we all need the 'good guys' in our lives right now, and it's great to have 'bad guys' out there who aren't classified by race.

We went through a long period of using the 'evil Russians' or Germans and now Muslims as bad guys, even in the more recent thriller movies.

A bit of fantasy in our reality is a good thing, don't you think?

Hi Bibi
Ha! I hope they didn't have to stand in line. ;-)

Thanks Joanne
Yes I like the vibrant magenta backgrounds, too. They did a good job choosing the palette.
