7 More Random Things, 7 More Random Blogs

I've been tagged by Kizz at 117 Hudson and Cole Twins at Sanity for the same meme.

The directions are to post 7 random or odd things about yourself, then tag 7 random people to carry out the same meme.

Since this meme is about random things, I thought I'd post a list of coincidences, some large, some small:

1. My mom, dad, brother and I have the same first and last initials.

2. I was born one day before Mark's brother

3. I went to the same school twice. Once for my Bachelor's and once for my Master's degree.

4. I was hired by the same office on two different ocassions by two different bosses.

5. I worked at an office on the 11th floor on East 42nd Street. Then I worked at an office on the 11th floor on West 42nd Street.

6. My family has a penchant for living on streets and in towns with the word 'West'. I grew up in West Something. When I was 15, we moved to West Something Street in West Something Else.

7. A few years ago, my parents were planning to move. They told me about a house they'd seen that they liked. I asked where it was.

'It's on West Something Street in West Some Other Place', my mom said.

'You'll buy the house.' I said. And I was right.

Brrrr

TGIF, everyone. Tonight, it feels much more like the dead of winter than fall.

I am here, still shivering, on Mark's couch. It's 38 degrees outside but feels much colder. All I can think about is poor Louie. I didn't check on him tonight because I didn't want to lure him out of his box.

7 More Things, 7 Blogs

Well, I've been tagged by Novel of Novel Happenings to list 7 facts about myself and tag some other bloggers.

The rules are:
1. You link to your tagger and post these rules.
2. You share 7 facts about yourself: some random, some weird.
3. You tag 7 people at the end of your post and list their names (linking to them).
4. You let them know they've been tagged by leaving a comment at their blogs.

I'm generally really bad at these memes. Dear Tammy of Mom Knows Everything has tagged me for a bunch of nice awards that I never got around to passing on. The main reason is that with my schedule, I have little time to read and find new blogs to tag! How embarrassing. (Sorry, Tammy!)


Here's those seven things, a continuation of the Eight Things, Eight Blogs that I posted earlier:

1. I came in second as the female student 'Most Likely to Succeed' in my Junior High School class. The last I heard of the girl who came in first place was that she was a coke addict (but that was a while ago. Maybe she's a CEO now?)

2. In college, I pilfered a huge keg of red wine after a departmental reception, the kind with the screw top. Then, because of laziness or audacity or stupidity, I hitched a ride to my dorm with a proctor in his Ford Taurus, hiding the keg under my raincoat. I got away with it, thank goodness!

3. When I was growing up, I was competely addicted to cherry pie filling. I'd eat it from the can with a spoon. (Yipes!)

4. I am usually underdressed. Meaning I often wear a light coat and scarf in the dead of winter. (This drives Mark crazy).

5. I have a hard time buying shoes, for whatever reason. Making a shoe choice is tough for me. Hence I have few shoes!

6. I love reality-tv shows (who doesn't?). Top Chef, America's Top Model, anything on Bravo...I watch it all!

7. I was first published at age 11; a poem of mine was printed in the local paper, LOL.

Eight Things, Eight Blogs

I've been tagged with a meme by my most loyal reader, Tammy of Mom Knows Everything to disclose eight random things about myself.

1. I once helped a crew install street signs in lower New York. We ended the day at 6 am!
2. I can't do a cartwheel to save my life.
3. I prefer salty fatty foods to sweet. Give me a potato chip and I'm happy.
4. I chew a LOT gum to relieve stress.
5. People love my laugh. I get compliments all the time.
6. I sneeze much more than the average human.
7. I don't know how to ski.
8. I can eat the same thing everyday (which is both a blessing and a curse).

The meme question was

'If you had the opportunity to do a 1-year internship in a company or field completely unrelated to your current career or specialty, what would be your top 5 choices?'

Hm....I guess...

1. Chef - I'm addicted to Top Chef, and Bill Buford's descriptions of his kitchen experiences. I'd love to intern at one of those high end restaurants, though I'm not nearly macho enough.

2. Veterinarian - Love animals. Love em.

3. Couture Sewist - I worked briefly for a fashion designer long ago and found it incredibly tedious and stressful...but working at a couture house looks amazing (from the outside).

4. Voice-Over Actress - Make a bajillion dollars because only I can be the voice for a leading company or character? Sure!!

5. Artist/Boutique Owner - My dream job has always been to be the vision behind a little place, like John Derian or Jonathan Adler. What a nice life!
